Greetings from down under! I’m not sure if that’s how they really refer to it in New Zealand – but that’s all I’ve got so far! After a 15 hour flight to Melbourne, a quick turnaround and another 3 hour-ish flight to Auckland, we are here! Virgin Australia was awesome and allowed me to watch 1o episodes of the first season of Glee that I haven’t seen yet! Success. While Ryan and I attempted to sleep, let’s just say someday I will be smart enough to save for the business class seats on flights over 5 hours.

It’s foggy, a little damp and a crisp-cold-temperature 20 degrees celsius I think…Jeans and a jacket do fine! The city actually is a little SF-like and has lots of shops and a wharf area. We are definitely still navigating the place but spent our afternoon scouring for food (the first bite was Sal’s NY pizza – go figure!) and just exploring. Most of the shops are still closed for Christmas Holiday so the town seems deserted. I’m sure it will pick up over the next few days. Tomorrow we’ll stay in Auckland exploring and then Thursday we head out for a week-long organized tour of the country.

We have to keep our heads up when we are walking because the cars drive on the other side here – so bizarre0! Oh one other weird thing – we totally lost December 27th in travel – so weird! Cheers for now!
