Greetings from the Middle East

We successfully finished our first leg of the trip, a 16 hour flight to Dubai via LAX. Man it was a doooosey! Now we are happily lounging in the Dubai airport chowin’ down on some Burger King fries, waiting for our flight to Doha, Qatar.

For those of you that don’t know, I’m traveling with a group from USD for an intersession course to learn about the University system in Qatar. Qatar has several American campuses like Carnegie Mellon, Cornell and Virginia to name a few. We’ll spend tomorrow touring Al Jazeera, the news network based in Doha.

BUT by far the highlight of the trip so far was Sara and I’s opportunity to don the Emirates flight attendants pillbox hats! The attendant was SUPER sweet and more than willing to let us try it on….and you know me – how could I resist!?

More from Qatar later! Peace in the Middle East, friends!
